We weren't sure about the colours or all the extras such as lighting, door handles and worktops. "When we decided to extend our home, we invited over 5 architects to quote and also provide their ideas. Matt really stood out as someone I could work with; he was easy going, professional and understood exactly what I was trying to achieve. I found he was very willing to listen to my ideas but also was able to come up with many alternatives that part incorporated my own but also improved upon them. Some of his ideas I rejected and gave my reasons why - either budget, or not quite creating the living space we wanted and he used this to rethink and come back with new possibilities.

We changed the scheme about 8 times and Matt was extremely courteous and had an incredibly quick turnaround. The speed of turnaround was very important to us as we wanted to get the plans in by a certain date and really appreciated this. He then handled the whole planning process, including altering and resubmitting the plans a second time!! At no point did I feel that I couldn't ask him to change something again - which is exactly how you want to feel when you are potentially spending a lot of on build; you want to be able to get the home right.

I contacted Matt 10 months after my last contact with him to just enquire about a walkthrough to help visualise the finished property and he was kind enough to send me the model he had already previously created of our home during the construction draws. He could easily have charged me for this but didn't and this model was exactly what we needed. He then altered this model for free with some minor changes even once I had offered to pay a second time!

If we ever need architectural services again, I will certainly be using Matt. I know friends who have had trouble with extra charges for alterations to schemes, or architects choosing to produce what they consider a nice home without real consulting clients wishes and so I feel lucky to have picked a competent professional with an excellent work ethic, speedy communication, competitive and generally a nice guy."
